Round rat restrainer tube
Material: perspex(organic glass), stainless steel
- Size of 500g rat round tube: 29cm*11cm*10cm
- Size of 350g rat round tube: 26cm*8cm*9cm
- Size of 250g rat round tube: 26cm*8cm*8cm
The round rat restrainer tube can make sure the limb and head of the rat are out of the tube which is convenient to lead electricity of ECG. The bottom of the tube is open for belly injection and it is available for chronically implanted electrodes operation.
Square rat restraint tube
Material: perspex(organic glass), stainless steel
3 types of rat restrainer tubes are available: 35g square tube, 250g square tube, and 350g square tube.
The rat holding tube is convenient to fix the rat then the operator can do the injection and other related experiments to the belly, limb, and tail of rats.
We choose superior material and reasonable design to make sure the rat restrainers can help you to do the injection easily and smoothly.
Notice: We have two types of material for the restrainer tube. One material is perspex, please do not use the organic solution to clean the perspex restrainer tube. Another material is PC(polycarbonate), with this material the tube can be sterilized by alcohol, ultraviolet, high temperature, and high-pressure ways.
Do not fasten the screw too tight in case of breaking the restrainer’s perspex.
Maintenance of the restrainer
Some types of restrainer tubes are made of plexiglass, they should not be smashed or pressed hard.
Avoid using various organic solvents (such as ethanol, ether, etc.) when cleaning the restrainers, and can use general detergents for cleaning.
We also provide the mouse blood sampling restrainer tube.
Manual of the restrainer tube
- Use of the restrainer is for rat tail vein injection or blood sampling.
- Applicable range of rats and mice weight between 35g to 350g, other specifications above 350g are optional, please contact us for details.
How to use the rat restrainer tube
Assembly of restrainer
- Use the two screws attached to the bracket and the bottom plate to connect the bracket to the bottom plate.
- Insert the rat restrainer tube into the groove on the rat holder and then tighten the fastening screws.
Adjustment of restrainer tube
(1) Adjustment of loading the rat: Remove the sliding cylinder plug, have the rat go into the empty restrainer tube from the rear end of the restrainer tube, then slightly fix the sliding cylinder plug from the front side of the tube, and then pull the two posterior limbs out from the grooves respectively.
Adjust screws of the waist-hip pressure plate so that the plate presses the rat and its hind legs cannot be pulled out, and then adjust again the position of the sliding cylinder plug and the waist-hip pressure plate so that the rat is in the right and relatively comfortable position.
(2) Rat position adjustment: The rat tube can be slidably adjusted in the groove to solve the problem of different lengths of rat tails.
(3) Adjustment of the pad position: The rat tail pad can be adjusted left and right through the adjustment screws under the pad to ensure that the rat tail is centered. If the adjustment of the tail length cannot be achieved through the position of the groove, the rat tail pad can be removed then use the other two screw holes to finish the adjustment.
